world yacht dinner cruise - window seats worth extra $$$$$?

we are booking the world yacht dinner cruise on the final night of our december visit, there will be myself, dh, dd (8) and my parents so 5 in total.

my parents want this to be their treat as when they fly home the next day we are continuing to orlando to spend christmas and new year there, so the dinner cruise will be our christmas dining celebration.

for 5 people it will cost just over $500 and they are fine with that. however there is an option to upgrade to window seats for an extra $200. i am wondering is this worth it?

it will be a special dining experience for us so if i thought the view would be extremely restricted from the regular tables i will pay the extra $200 myself to upgrade. but it is an awful lot of extra money if the view from the regular tables is ok. does anyone have experience of this specific cruise that can give me some advice??

If you take one of the other dinner cruises, the Bateaux New York, the boat is all glass. This way, you don%26#39;t need to pay extra for window seats as you are surrounded by windows. My husband and I are taking the cruise at the end of April and have heard there is not a bad seat in the place. Plus, from what I have heard, the food is the best on the Bateaux New York.

I agree with that. Use

bateauxnewyork.com

It%26#39;s a better cruise, better boat, better food.

ok great thanks for that i will have a look now. for some reason i thought bateaux didnt run in december! must be confusing it with something else

it looks great do you know if it stops at SOL to take photos like the regular circle line/ny waterway cruises??

We took the Bateaux cruise Dec 2008 so they do run in Decdember. There were 11 of us an it only cost $50 for the entire group to upgrade to a window seat. I do think the views are fine from any seat though.

I also should have added that it does stop at SOL for photo ops. I think it was about 10 or 15 minutes.

thanks for your replies. i dont know what to do now actually. we are on a very tight schedule and on that day we will be touring the tenement museum at approx 3-3.30. we will need to get back to our hotel on 55th and 7th to get dressed up and be ready to board at 6 ish. i think if we sail with world yacht this will be doable as it sails from west 41st st

but bateaux go from west 23rd. i dont know if we would have enough time to get there.

not sure what to do. schedule is pretty tight, took days to plan due to varying age groups/interests, etc

I%26#39;m sure the experts can definitely answer this question. But I would think if you are taking a cab that it would still be doable, maybe 10-15 minutes more?
