Help to figure out transportation and hotel accomation

My sister and I are taking our mom to NYC, since she wants to see Niagara falls too, we figure we would fly in to Buffalo NY on 5/23 and stay a couple nights before flying to NYC.

My questions are: is it better to stay in a hotel in the american side or canadian side? We can afford about $80 a night. We also want to see the falls from both side, is it difficult to get to the falls without a rental car? Depending on which hotel we stay in, how do we get from the airport to our hotel--shuttle? public transportation?

Thanks for all the help in advance!

Hi;

Definitely the Canadian side ! Why ?

? Just about every view YOU have seen of the Falls was taken from the Canadian side.

? Cleaner

? Much more to see and do.

You may want to read this previous post about the same question.

Here is an interactive map of Niagara Falls Canada.

The view is facing the US side, with the Fallsview area on the right side, and Clifton Hill on the upper left. Click on a building, and a new page will open with a description and details.

For transportation from the Buffalo airport, have a look at NiagaraAirBus.com

Best Regards

You are going to have a difficult time finding acceptable accomodations on either side of the border for $80 ($100CDN) per night. The major hotels around the Falls will be double that, and the big Fallsview hotels on the Canadian side will be triple. Anything in that price range will be sub-par, or not within walking distance of the Falls and attractions. Your best bet might be Priceline.com or something similar. Check out the hotel reviews here and on the Niagara Falls, Ontario forum (tripadvisor.com/ShowForum-g154998-i97-Niagar…), find something acceptable to you, and try to find a deal somewhere.

What is there in my post that is inaccurate or incorrect ?

If you read the thread I linked to, of the 4 American replies, all four recommend the Canadian side over the American side…that’s not a slam, just the facts.

I waited 12 hours for YOU to reply to YOUR forum, but you didn’t.

Best Regards

Hi;

The only reason that I commented about the Canadian side was because the OP asked about it.

Once you break a few thousand replies, you may find that your replies start to appear ';stock'; as well.

Best Regards

Check out the Country Inn and Suites on Victoria Avenue. I have booked a room there for next weekend, 3 nights, for a little over $200 including breakfast.

You can check it out, but you%26#39;ll find a big difference between next weekend and Memorial Day (or anytime thereafter).
