Anything worth seeing in Newark?

We are arriving at Newark airport at 10am and are catching a train to Chicago from Penn Station NY at 4pm so I have a couple of questions.

- Is there anything worth seeing in Newark, is so what shouldn%26#39;t we miss?

- How long will it take to catch train from Newark to Penn Station NY?

By the way we will be coming back to NYC for a week before leaving for home so we are planning on seeing the sights in NYC then.

Nothing to see in Newark (this should generate some

traffic). Just take the time to go to Penn Station

and find some lunch in the area. Won%26#39;t take long to

catch train in Newark most go through to Penn Sta

I agree with the previous post. Take a train from the airport to NY Penn Station. At that time of day (if it%26#39;s a weekday) New Jersey Transit runs about 4 trains per hour (at irregular intervals) from EWR to NY Penn. If your timing is really bad, you might have to wait 20-30 minutes for a train; the ride itself takes 25-30 minutes (to see the schedule, go to njtransit.com). Try to check your luggage at the train station (I believe your AMTRAK ticket will allow you to do this, but I could be wrong); then you can explore a bit before leaving for Chicago.

If you%26#39;ve not already booked the train ticket, I%26#39;d suggest you reconsider. Train to Chicago is not a wonderful experience. Look at Livetotravel%26#39;s posts in both these threads (and he%26#39;s a good traveler)

only thing worth seeing in Newark is the Newark museum http://www.newwarkmeusum.org A must see in NJ but not that high on a over all USA trip.

I totally agree that it is not worth your while to spend any time in Newark. Go directly to Penn Station New York (NOT Penn Station Newark!) %26amp; explore around there

Nywhiz...we have already booked but I think it should be OK because we booked a bedroom sleeper so hopefully we will be sleeping most of the way. ;)
