Rain and Plugs

Hello

Two things:

Firstly, just found out it%26#39;s going to rain almost everyday I%26#39;m in NY. Yay. Not. Please can you give me ideas on what we can do? Or links to posts of this nature.

Secondly, will the hotel be able to provide plug socket adaptors as our UK plugs are different to US sockets, or should I try find one here before I come?

Thanks muchly,

L

Hotels don%26#39;t guarantee socket adaptors - try to find your own before you come.

Rain and Plugs

There are dozens of previous threads like yours bemoaning ';it%26#39;s going to rain the entire time I%26#39;m there.'; Often it doesn%26#39;t. Do a text search. Rain is not uncommon in March/April so it shouldn%26#39;t come as a great shock.

Hotels don%26#39;t provide adapters.

Here are some things on my rainy-day list:

Manhattan Mall

Big Shops (Strand, Macy%26#39;s, Century 21, Bookoff)

A tour in a water-tight boat

Museums (Tenement, National History!)

Eploring the subway

Roosevelt Tram

I reckon a full trip to Ellis Island will keep you sheltered most of the time as well....

Enjoy your time in NY, I hope it doesn%26#39;t rain on your parade every day!!

See Queensboulevard%26#39;s response on this thread, which has links to several posts about what to do in the rain:

Hey UK, it%26#39;s a joke. Don%26#39;t get your knickers in a twist.

One thing that you will learn in NYC is that we can be a sarcastic, yet endearing, lot. Ease up on the gas.

I thought this was going to be about hairplugs getting ruined in the rain
