Buying NY Yankees tickets days in advance

I realise there are a few topics floating about the site re: Yankees tickets but none seem to answer the question I have.

I%26#39;m desperate to get to a Yankees game while I%26#39;m over in New York with my girlfriend from June 17 - June 24, when they play Washington.

I%26#39;ve looked at StubHub and have had problems with getting them delivered to a UK address. I%26#39;m still working with them, and trying to get in touch with our hotel to see if they%26#39;ll accept delivery of our tickets.

Just checked Ticketmaster for individual tickets and they seem to have sold out for the areas we want.

So I wondered if we left the tickets altogether, how easy/hard it%26#39;ll be to purchase tickets while we%26#39;re actually there? ie one day before the game.

Are there plenty of outlets selling them in the city itself, or can we pick them up from touts? We don%26#39;t want to be paying too much over the odds though.

Or is there just a simpler way to get tickets?

Many thanks for any info - we%26#39;ll keep plugging away with StubHub/our hotel in the meantime!

I think Stubhub shipping to your hotel is a good idea. Perhaps you can purchase off SH a few days before you leave, and then they%26#39;ll be waiting for you at your hotel when you arrive. For a game against the Nats, there should be plenty of reasonably priced tickets available on Stubhub a few days before.

Your other option is to just show up to the stadium. Again, because it%26#39;s vs. the Nationals, you might have luck find tickets from scalpers for not too much above face value.

Only official outlets selling in the city would be the Yankee clubhouse shops, but they have the same selection as Ticketmaster.

Typically, waiting for a few days before or the day of the game would result in a good seat selection on stubhub and likely with a drop in prices. However, since this year is a new year for the stadium, all of that goes out the window and the tickets may be much harder to come by - and as a result, what tickets that are available will be pricier.

I think I found the breakthrough just as I finished typing - didn%26#39;t realise you could get eDelivery on tickets!
