Transportation From NJ Hotel To NYC And Vice Versa.

I%26#39;m going to be staying at the Howard Johnson North Bergen hotel at 1300 Tonnelle Ave in June. They offer a shuttle service but it only runs at very specific times, apparently can fill up quite quickly, and cost $6.00 one way.

I%26#39;ve heard that there is a bus or train station very close to the hotel (in walking distance) but now I can%26#39;t find info about it. Is there one?

Other than the shuttle, what is the best way to get back and forth? I%26#39;ve tried looking at the bus schedules and such, but they make no sense to me and nothing I%26#39;m finding seems close to the hotel.

The shuttle also stops around 10 P.M. If I want to stay out later, I would need another way back.

I tried searching through the forums but I%26#39;m either finding things that don%26#39;t really relate or are a few years old.
