New York first!!

What are your dates and what is your nightly budget? Are you willing to share a bathroom? Is one of you happy on a sofabed?

New York first!!

We are 3 and we will be there from 26th April to 3th May. We prefer ..a bed, and we%26#39;d like to spend 160$ for day for room maximum....

Could you help us?

';We prefer ..a bed, and we%26#39;d like to spend 160$ for day for room maximum....';

Is that $160 per room per night? Keep in mind, with tax that means you need a room for a base price of about $140 a night.

Have you tried discount websites like travelzoo.com or quickbook.com?

Do you need 3 separate beds (i.e. two twin/full beds and a sleeper sofa?)

You could get a room with 2 queen beds at the brand-new Holiday Inn Manhattan View -- across the East River from Manhattan in Queens (Long Island City) for as little as $142/night ($155 for a balcony room) -- if you%26#39;re willing to pay in advance and forfeit the money if you cancel. It%26#39;s not much more money to have the advantage of being able to get a refund if you cancel.

I%26#39;ve been hesitant to suggest it to people since MYC hotels usually suffer substantial delays in opening. But I see now that it is indeed open %26amp; the first reviews are good.

That%26#39;s not really enough for a room with 3 at that time of year in a nice hotel with private bathroom. There are some limited options in Manhattan

on quikbook.com

%26gt;Cosmopolitan Hotel for $163 plus tax

%26gt;Paramount Hotel for $168 plus tax

There%26#39;s a 3* hotel in Chelsea/MSG area for $159/night plus tax on Hotwire.com It looks like the Wyndham Garden Midtown. Same hotel is $179/night plus tax on

travelzoo.com

special.

I%26#39;d book the Paramount on quikbook since it cancelable and keep your eyes out on Travelzoo and Hotwire for better deals.

Thanks for the suggestions!!I found very usefull!

I checked the availability in HolydayInn, Paramount hotel and Cosmopolitan, I read also something about them...and the better seems to be The Cosmopolitan.

What do you think?Which is the better tostay the first time in NY?I like tha paramoun for the location but the comments were not very entusiastic..

Let me know..and thanks again!

The location of the Paramount is much better but the Cosmopolitan is probably a better hotel. I don%26#39;t think either is particularly great. If you reread what I said, I%26#39;m suggesting you book something cancelable NOW and hope for a sale at a better hotel before your trip.

The Cosmopolitan is a nice budget-priced (by New York City standards) hotel in a downtown neighborhood that I like a lot. But, you would have a room with 2 double beds at the Cosmopolitan. You%26#39;ll get 2 queen-sized beds (somewhat wider) at the Holiday Inn with a room that will be bigger, have brand-new furnishings and quite possibly, a view of the Manhattan skyline (the pool may not be open by the time you arrive).

I think either one would be fine, each for different reasons. Since you%26#39;re interested in saving money, pick whichever one (the Cosmopolitan or the Holiday Inn) is the least expensive for the 3 of you.

But do not stay at the Paramount. Tiny, generally poorly-designed rooms in an establishment that is not being well maintained. It would drive 3 people nuts in a week%26#39;s time (or less).

Ok last decision:

St Marks Hotel or humpton Inn Soho
