SOL Monument Passes

I know this subject has come up numerous times, but I wasn%26#39;t finding an answer so here it is again. I just recently realized that I should get Monument Passes ahead of time, and they are already sold out for the date I am looking at (April 7th). Here are my questions:

1) What are my chances of being able to get Passes day of?

2) What time should I get there to try to snag those?

3) I am staying at the Sheraton Weehawken - anyone know the best way to get to SOL from there? (get to Jersey City ferry, or take Pt Imperial Ferry to somewhere, or take bus to Pt Authority and subway from there?)
