My BIL is traveling from here in SoCal to NYC... to referee college water polo next weekend.
My SIL probably got so sick of hearing about our trips to the city that she talked him in to taking her and making it more of a fun trip. :)
They%26#39;re staying close to Central Park at the Parker Meridien. Per my advice, they are not renting a car. Can someone please advise on the best way to get to each college from their hotel?. About how long will each trek take? The games are on Saturday at one site and Sunday at the other.
Thank you for your help!

Not sure I agree with your advice. ;) I think I%26#39;d actually rent a car, but that may not be as easy for them if they%26#39;ve never been here. Iona is in New Rochelle so they can either drive there OR, take a Metro North train from Grand Central station (New Haven line) to New Rochelle station and from there a taxi. They%26#39;ll have to arrange for a taxi to pick them up after the game to go back to the train station.

Wagner is on Staten Island. They can get a subway to the Staten Island ferry, take that over and then either use a bus or a car service.

Thanks nywhiz. I was hoping you%26#39;d chime in!
So the train from GCS is better than the subway or are they one and the same in this case?
Believe me, it would be a big hassle if they rented a car. You should hear us trying to give them directions to Carnegie Deli from their nearby hotel! :) We wish we could be there with them, however someone has to watch the 3 %26amp; 6 year old boys!
I appreciate the guidance.
