Parking-getting around

I am planning a trip to NYC in mid-May. I am taking a tour the first day, a good way to get my bearings of where things are. The only thing, where can I park? I am driving in from the Poconos so I thought we might park in New Jersey and take a ferry over. If I do that, where is a place I can park in New Jersey? If it would be just as good to park in NYC, where should I park? Also what is the best way to get around town, bus, taxi, etc... I have a 4 year old on this trip as well.

The best way to get around town is to walk. The second best way is to take the subway.

Where are you staying?

The Travel Inn is the only hotel in Manhattan that has free parking.

You could perhaps park at Metropark train station in NJ, where there%26#39;s undercover parking. Or check

www.bestparking.com to see if there%26#39;s somewhere near your hotel at a good rate.

Subways and buses are great for kids. They love looking out the windows, etc. Just make sure you hold hands at all times and that, if you kid wants to stand while riding the subway, you must hold the pole securely.

Drive into Manhattan and ditch the car. you can find garage locations and price estimates here:
