Broadway shows in May

I%26#39;m going to be in NYC may 7-9 with my 20 something daughter and 40 something friend. We definitely want to see a broadway show. We say Hairspray 2 years ago and really liked it. Does anyone have any recommendations along the lines of Hairspray? We want light and funny. Thanks

Broadway shows in May

Avenue Q or Mama Mia (abba music)

Broadway shows in May

How about West Side Story??? A favorite from long ago

If you%26#39;d consider a play instead of a musical, ';God of Carnage'; is very good.

If you can get tickets, I%26#39;d pick South Pacific or Billy Elliot.

Mamma Mia is light and fun.

West Side Story is not ';light and funny';!!

Mary Poppins, The Lion King, 9-5 The Musical or Mamma Mia might be good for your group.

Ave Q is very funny, irreverent but has some off color humor if that won%26#39;t bother you. In the Heights is not exactly light, but is lots of fun and young with great dancing. I really think it%26#39;s one of the best musicals on Broadway. The revival of Hair which opens next week is another idea. 9 to 5 hasn%26#39;t opened yet but will open on April 30. Allison Janney from West Wing is in it. That could be another possibility.

I%26#39;m thinking Mamma Mia for you, WV.....

But you can%26#39;t go wrong with any of the above suggestions.

Oh, what about Shrek? I%26#39;ve been listening to their cast album on the radio and it%26#39;s very funny. John Tartaglia plays Pinocchio with a Southern accent...

I want to see it.

Absolutely, Mamma Mia! I%26#39;ve seen the Broadway show and then the film. The film was a huge disappointment, primarily because the show on Broadway was so fantastic!

Don%26#39;t be turned off by the thought of ';Abba music';...I was skeptical, but all for nothing. Bought the CD on the way out :)
