Broadway tickets in advance or in NYC?

Just wondering if I should buy my broadway tickets in advance on Broadway Box or wait until I get to NYC? Broadway Box has some good discounts, but I%26#39;m always a bit annoyed by the extra service charges they add on for ordering online (close to $10). The coupon codes on Broadway Box are also good for the box office, but as I do not live in NYC I wouldn%26#39;t be able to use them until I actually get there. Is there any hope I would still be able to use the codes at the box office when I arrive or is it likely that the tickets designated for the discount codes will be sold out? Thanks...

It really depends on what you want to see, how many options you%26#39;d consider, how many people you are and how long you%26#39;re here. If you%26#39;re 4, want a certain show and are only here for a long weekend, don%26#39;t count on it. I%26#39;ve never had good luck redeeming a discount code at the box for the same day as the performance. But if you%26#39;re here for a week and there are a number of shows you%26#39;d consider, you can always take the chance.

Seeing the tickets you buy are discounted, I%26#39;ve usually found the added fees of really no consequence. www.broadwaybox.com is providing a service so one has to pay the piper. Would you rather pay $116.50 or $55 plus an $8.00 fee???

Not rocket science here, eh?

Like whiz, I%26#39;ve not fared well with a last-minute purchase at the box office. Plus, I like the luxury of being able to peruse what seats are available for different performances and the convenience of e-tickets (yes, I misplaced tix once ).

If you are flexible in what you want to watch and want discounted tickets, you can definitely get them at the TKTS in Times Square. Google TKTS and you%26#39;ll get all the information. The lines can be pretty long depending on when you go, but it is worth it. You can also do rush tickets, which certain shows have and are about $30. If you have a limited amount of time in NY and don%26#39;t want to risk missing watching something, then definitely buy it online. Service charges have been increasing to a ridiculous amount so there is no way to beat it.

Have a blast!
