Chicago-Buffalo-Niagara Falls....Help

We have booked to travel from Chicago to Buffalo ad then on to Niagara Falls NY by train.

I revieved an Email last week tellng me the train will now be departig earlier from Chicago so now we have 6 hours before our connection from Buffalo to Niagara Falls.

Our plans when we got to Niagara Falls was to hire a car to travel through Canada then back to NY.

Should we:

Get a cab or bus into Buffalo then catch the train to NF ( 6hrs later)as planned

OR Forget about the Buffalo - NF connection and hire a car in Buffalo then drive to NF?

If we decide to go into Buffalo is our luggage going to be automatically checked onto the next train (like they do on connecting flights) or do we have to collect our luggage and check it onto the next

train?

Hi Jo;

There is NO reason to sit in Buffalo for 6 hours when Niagara Falls is only 20 miles / 33 km away !

Rent a car and GO !!!

There are some car rental companies that will not permit their cars out of the state or out of the country, or charge a premium if they do. Most of the larger rental companies will allow cross border travel.

Ensure that the car rental company notes on the rental agreement that they authorize you to take the car into Canada. You may be asked by Customs when entering Canada, or when re-entering the US, for this documentation.

Thanks heaps RescueTeam....because I have already booked and paid for our Buffalo-NF leg of the train travel will we be able to collect our luggage at Buffalo in order to leave and hire a car?

Sorry, I don%26#39;t know the answer to that part of your question.

Since Amtrak changed their schedule, can you not cancel the Buffalo to Niagara portion of your trip ?
