Grand Central Station Eateries

I was just online checking out eateries at Grand Central Station and was immediately overwhelmed. Given a budget of $10-$20 (or close to that) per person for lunch (or dinner) what place would you recommend? Thanks for your help.

Eat Elsewhere. The prices are not wonderful, and the food is essentially what you could get at a mall%26#39;s food court. However, you may wanna get a slice of Junior%26#39;s cheese cake.

What day of the week are you considering? I recommend several of the NYCRG restaurants. (Roberto Passon, Film Center Cafe, Maria Pia, etc.). They offer prix fix lunches and brunches within your budget. The food is very good. Just a suggestion....Moms

Amen. Unless you can afford the one rest that is on

the main level. Very pricey but I agree wholeheartedly with Mel.

You can have lunch for $20.00 (or a bit less/more depending upon what you order, $12.00 salads and $15-$17.00 burgers) at Pershing Square right outside GCT.

Thanks for the quick replies. We%26#39;ll be in New York (grown daughter, 10-year old grandson, and myself) starting Friday morning through Monday. Given the poor recommendations we may take a pass on Grand Central Station (except for the cheesecake of course). Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Well, I would be happy making a lunch out of a soup from Hale %26amp; Hearty and a piece of pie from the Little Pie Company. But, the ';cheap eats'; at Grand Central Terminal are downstairs in the basement where there%26#39;s none of the historic charm that the name ';Grand Central Terminal'; conjures. Plus, it%26#39;s a place where student tour groups are often ';unleashed'; for lunch, so you%26#39;re apt to feel like you%26#39;re in a noisy junior high school cafeteria.

Were you planning to be there right at lunch time [maybe right before/after the free tour of the Terminal?], so eating in the immediate vicinity is important?

CockleCove, not sure when we%26#39;ll be there - I just know it won%26#39;t be at breakfast Thanks for your suggestions.

In the interest of continuing my education on NYC I have to ask, ';What does NYCRG stand for?';

Thanks and Y%26#39;all have a great day!

I like Junior%26#39;s at GCT, for their meals as well as cheesecake, and it fits your budget. It%26#39;s downstairs in the food court.
