Hotel Decision - 70 Park Ave or Shelburne Murray Hill Hotel?

I have secured reservations in both hotels for 6 days in May, and I need to decide which one to keep.

70 Park Avenue - Rate is $258/night (excluding taxes) for a higher floor King Premiere room.

Shelburne Murray Hill - Rate is $199/night (excluding taxes) for a one-bedroom suite. I requested a higher floor room.

I know both are in the same general area, and I stayed at the 70 Park Avenue last summer. It had the best hotel bed I%26#39;ve ever experienced. But I%26#39;m wondering if it%26#39;s worth the extra $59/night, especially since Shelburne Murray Hill has been recently renovated. Anything other than price that I should be considering to help make my decision?

Thanks!

I personally would prefer a 1 bedroom suite for less money and wouldn%26#39;t think twice about this decision, but either you loved that bed so much or you just prefer what you know. Have you checked around to see if you can find 70 Park for less? Have you looked on quikbook.com and hotels.com?

Yes...Quikcook is my faithful travel friend. The 70 Park Ave is starting at $349 on this site. I steered away from Hotels.com since I didn%26#39;t want to get stuck with a penalty for changing or canceling my reservation.

I%26#39;ll probably stick with Shelburne Murray Hill, but didn%26#39;t know if there was something I%26#39;m missing. And you%26#39;re right...you tend to go where you know, especially if you have a good experience. :)

Thanks once again for you%26#39;re right-on advice.

Hotels.com itself no longer charges a booking fee or a change/cancellation fee; the only time you have to pay a change/cancellation penalty when book with them is if that%26#39;s required by the policy of hotel where you have the reservation (e.g., canceling at the last minute).
