NYC to Hancock

Visiting New York City in August I%26#39;d like to spend a couple of days at ';French Woods'; a summer camp near Hancock, where my daughter will be working. Any tips on transport from New York to Hancock? I%26#39;d prefer not to drive if possible although could hire a car if that%26#39;s the only option. Thanks in advance.

NYC to Hancock

Apparently the camp is near Hancock NY. There%26#39;s bus service twice a day from Port Authority bus terminal to Hancock (8 am and 4:30 pm) but the bus takes 3 1/2 hrs. to get there and you%26#39;d still need transport from the bus stop (at ';Family Restaurant';) to the camp. On the website it says it%26#39;s a 2 1/2 hr. drive from NYC. I%26#39;d rent a car. You%26#39;ll need one to get around there anyway.

I just GOOGLED French Woods camp and got to their website - I suggest you do the same. It lists everything there is t know about the camp plus some contact information. I would contact them as to availability of transport and lodging during your visit.

A car is definitely an asset (I%26#39;d consider it a must-have) in that neck of the woods -- plus, I bet your daughter would appreciate you taking her to a nice place to eat on her day off, a welcome change from the usual camp fare :-)
