Nicer hotel or romantic, boutique or B & B near Syracuse

My husband %26amp; I are looking for a nicer hotel or romantic, boutique or B %26amp; B property in or around Syracuse for April 1 and 2, perhaps even 45 min or an hour away.

We have no schedule other than flying into Syracuse early on April 1 and stopping in Camillus on the evening of April 2, then flying out of Syracuse the morning of April 3.

What are your recommendations?

Skaneateles or Cazenovia would be nice areas to search in.

The Mirbeau Spa in Skaneateles is highly spoken of.

Skaneateles village is located right on Skaneateles lake (one of the Finger Lakes). Very nice village. Quaint shops. Nice restaurants. Village is about 30 mins from Syracuse.

Village of Cazenovia is also quite nice and the village is also located on a lake. Same thing applies, nice shops and restaurants (perhaps not quite as many as Skaneateles). Cazenovia is also about 30mins from Syracuse.

Many of my friends have talked about eating at Brewsters Inn and have spoken highly of it. I know of no one who has stayed there. The Inn is located right on the lake and I have driven by many times and it always looks very attractive and charming.

Perfect kayofcny!

I found Skaneateles in my premlinary research as well as the properties you spoke of. Sounds like it is what I am looking for, but not too far. I wasn%26#39;t aware of the Brewster Inn but that too looks perfect. Thank you!

Hey Island girl, the response you got was DEAD ON! THat poster knew their hotels/botiques. Caz is great, nice places to stay and great dinner. I have never been there to stay but did have a WONDERFUL brunch at the linklaen house. Skaneatleas is nice too; although a bit more pricey but more selection for restaurants and bars to have a drink at. it%26#39;s especially nice on a sunny day, regardless of temps.

Please report back on your night out; not not those personal details, :o) LOL

OH, if you are going to be in camillus then you have to do Skaneatleas, it%26#39;s only 10-15 minutes away, Cazenovia may be a 45 minute drive

Thanks all - sounds like Skaneatleas it is!

I think you%26#39;ll do fine in Skaneateles. Just keep in mind that it is upstate NY and our weather can still be touch and go (overcast, cold, rainy and, potentially, snow). So I hope your accommodations can make up for all of that .... if it occurs.

Oh I know. Seattle has been the same lately. A little snow, a little rain, a peak of sunshine...I am still wearing my Uggs and down coat, yet the daffodils are in full blown.

one more thing....now that it is Skaneateles....

Rosalie%26#39;s Cucina is quite nice. Expensive.

It has a Tuscan look and feel to it. Haven%26#39;t been there in quite a few years but I think it still has a very good reputation. I don%26#39;t know if they still have this one waiter who use to stroll about and seranade the tables (with Italian songs of course). I suppose some would find that a bit cheesy. I sort of liked it. Aside from the restaurant, they also have a great bakery. You do not have to enter the restaurant to access the bakery.

Thanks!
