Hello
Thinking of taking the M5 from Mid-Town all the way to the end, to see view of Riverside Dr, and up Manhattan, then taking M3 bus to the Museum Line, during day time, look good ? want to see more of the city, since I have see alot.
And anyone been to 230 Fifth Bar rooftop, I%26#39;ll be there, because so much enjoy sipping a drink and look at the skyline, doing the same in Montreal.

The M5 along Riverside Drive is a nice ride, and you get to see quite a lot of great old apartment buildings on the way up.
On the way down, my only concern about the M3 is that it does pass through rougher areas along St. Nicholas Avenue. That avenue can be quite run down. It%26#39;s not a concern for your safety, but rather just for the sightseeing.
An alternative would be the M4, which follows Broadway down through a vibrant Dominican area and then takes you past Columbia University before turning along the top of Central Park to go to the museums.
Middle ground might be the M2. The M2 passes some pretty tough housing projects in the 140s, but then coasts down 7th Avenue, a main boulevard of Harlem. You can really see the developments and changes in Harlem by taking the M2.

I like the M15 and M9 which go from J%26amp;R Music World, near City Hall/Brooklyn Bridge and up through Chinatown and the East Village.
Here are two good recent threads about touring and sightseeing by public bus:

And to answer your other question, I%26#39;ve been to 230 5th. It%26#39;s nice, but be sure you go early, because it can get quite crowded as the night goes on.
Here%26#39;s a list of other rooftop bars, in case you%26#39;re interested:
