Hi - just wondering which airport is the most convenient to Times Square area - Laguardia or JFK? We have never been to NYC. I was thinking Laguardia but just want to make sure.
Thanks!
Which airport please. Staying at Times Square
it makes no difference. you can get a can from jfk which is 45 flat fare plus toll and a cab from la guardia costs about 30. LGA is not int%26#39;l so I would assume JFK. There is a shuttle bus that can take you to port authority which is in Times Square.

If it%26#39;s an international flight you have the option of arriving at either JFK or Newark. Newark is closer to Times Square given the fact TS is on the west side of Manhattan. Cab fare from Newark will be about $55 or so.
No real difference or advantage - both are easily accessible by cab to midtown. Book your tickets to whichever airport gets you the lowest fares..
It is not an international flight as we will already have spent some time in the US. Coming from Las Vegas or perhaps Chicago (still working on that part of our itinerary).
By the sounds of things Laguardia might be more cost effective in terms of cab fares. US$30 = $43 Aussie $s at present.
Cab fare from JKF is flat and guaranteed. LaGuardia is on a running meter--so it is also dependant on time of day and traffic. A good ( or bad example) would have been Friday--the Whitestone Bridge was 100% closed and traffic to the triboro ( which goes past Laguardia and affects getting to and from it ) was backed up to close to a standstill. I would not have wanted to be in a cab watching the meter tick on Friday afternoon. As others have said--look at the difference in cost for the plane fare. That is a guaranteed difference.
