Broadway Tickets

I%26#39;m making my 1st trip to NYC on May and would like to get tickets for a Broadway Show. Is it better to buy in advance or go the to ticket booths / theatres?

I would definately buy in advanced. There are many online sites that sell tickets to numerous shows. Also while you are there, you should go see an off-broadway show. They are much cheaper and sometimes even as good or better.

Most people here recommend buying in advance to make sure you can get a seat and to make sure you get the best seat possible. Although there is no difference in availability between the box office and the ticket agency, buying in advance gets you the seat sooner, so there%26#39;s less chance that the seats you want will be taken by the time you get here. OTOH, there are service fees charged by the ticket agency (don%26#39;t remember how much, since I live hear I always just go to the box office).

Be sure to check www.broadwaybox.com for discount codes -- these codes are good at the box office or at the ticket agency (broadwaybox doesn%26#39;t actually sell tickets, they just list the discount codes). And be sure you buy from the official ticketing site which will be either ticketmaster.com or telecharge.com for Broadway shows (ie, don%26#39;t buy from a scalper). Broadwaybox or the show%26#39;s own web site will link you to the correct ticket agency. Off-broadway may use their own, cheaper ticketing services, btw.

Phantom is available on discount on www.broadwaybox.com so I would buy in advance online so you%26#39;re not disappointed if the tix aren%26#39;t at TKTS.

You can get $26 Phantom tickets ALL THE TIME from the regular online ticket seller. These seats are in the back rows. To find them choose the last seat option from the pull down menu and they should pop up in the search. If you aren%26#39;t picky about where you sit its a good bargain.
