Earth Hour in NYC??

So, how was the participation rate in NYC for Earth Hour? Was there a noticable difference? How about the lights in Times Square?

Here in the suburbs of Toronto it appeared most people did participate. Our street was mostly dark, we met numerous neighbors out walking the dog, and local condo buildings were also mostly dark. I am not a huge ';environmentalist'; but glad we can all do our part!
