Answered in the FAQ section and discussed daily.
What do you mean by ';trips';?
booking trips?
first time to new yorkTell us where you are staying. If is Manhattan then
take an official Yellow cab from the airport. It will
be a flat fee plus tip. Please remember that Americans
tip. Post more details of your trip and you will get
lots of good advice

The revolving restaurant you mention is called The View, and it is generally agreed that it%26#39;s worthwhile going up there for a drink or dessert, but not for a full meal, as the food is very mediocre and priced for tourists. It is located inside the Marriott Marquis in Times Square.
united vacations. they are fab, very helpful and a lot cheaper than anywhere else i found.
yes, holiday inn midtown
I%26#39;d break the trip down into various areas of the City. For example:
Day One - SI Ferry, Lower Manhattan, Brookyn Bridge, DUMBO. Chinatown [?] Evening - Greenwich Village
Day Two - Midtown Day. Top of the Rock, Whatever museums you desire, picnic lunch in Central Park. Evening - Broadway Show.
Day Three - Shopping. Hit the stores. Evening - Good dinner out.
Day Four - Whatever was on your list, and you didn%26#39;t do yet.
That is on W57th street, which is not too far from
Central park. Learn the subway and bus system and
metro cards. For four days you probably want to get
a pay as you go card. You put money on it and use it
at a rate of $2 each ride-- unless you get a transfer. For the most part use the buses to go cross
town (there is one on 57th st) and the subways to
go up and downtown. You should be able to walk to
everything in Midtown West. Pour through all of the
more recent postings on this site and you will
learn a great deal, especially if you pay attention
to those who are listed as ';experts'; on the city.
didn%26#39;t say which airport you are coming into but
at JFK and LGA the taxi fare is a fixed amount.
Only use yellow cabs. First time in the city I
would advise you take a taxi in and if you feel
comfortable public transportation out.
So many people coming from Scotland great ! My
grandmother was from Coatbridge.
%26gt;%26gt;but at JFK and LGA the taxi fare is a fixed amount.%26gt;%26gt;
Just a small correction: the fixed fare is only between JFK and Manhattan. Any trips from LGA use the meter, not a fixed price.
