The one answer that always comes up when you ask about good dessert places is Phillips European, but I%26#39;ve been underwhelmed by them lately. Without getting into a debate about the merits of Phillips, I%26#39;d be interested in other suggestions. Specifically, I%26#39;d like to find a place that%26#39;s open relatively late, with tasty pastries/desserts that haven%26#39;t dried out or gone stale sitting in a dessert case all day. Have at it and thanks.
good place for dessert around Rochester?
I was going to suggest Spin Cafe on Park Ave -- until you got to the ';late'; and ';stale'; part. LOL. I%26#39;m not so sure about that...but normally, I love their desserts and hanging in there.

How late are we talking? To some people relatively late is 10, to others it%26#39;s 2 :)
Not that it matters, I%26#39;d like to find good desserts. Most that I see on menus are pretty standard. My boyfriend and I tend to go to Wegmans and eat dessert at home.
I agree, the Wegman%26#39;s in Pittsford has beautiful dessert%26#39;s!
We%26#39;ve done the Wegmans thing before, it%26#39;s not a bad option, but sometimes it would be nice to stay out a little longer. I guess I should%26#39;ve said open in the evenings rather than ';late,'; say 9 or 10:00 or so, for those occasions when we maybe want a post-movie treat or if we have dinner at a restaurant without a great dessert selection of its own. Maybe there%26#39;s a niche to be filled here by some enterprising restaurateur.
Mona Lisa Cafe and Earthtones in Webster have good desserts. And coffee. I love the carnival funnel cake at Bazil%26#39;s. Max Market on Monroe Ave in Pittsford had a nice dessert case but not sure how late they are open.
Looks like Max%26#39;s closes at 5, for now at least, but the others sound promising. Thanks for the suggestions.
I recently ate dinner at Pomodoro Grill and all three of us loved our desserts. The service was excellent, as was dinner. They are open until 11 on Friday and Saturday.
P.S. I had a tiramisu cake (?) - I can%26#39;t remember what the others had.

Yankeedave,
I know you wanted some place open late...but...if you happen to need some place a little earlier in the day (say before 6 during the week and before 4 on Saturday) then Cheesy Eddie%26#39;s is the place! YUM.
You said the magic word - ';tiramisu';! If Pomodoro has a good one, they go straight to the top of my list. I%26#39;ve had dinner there, and liked it, but never dessert. Guess I%26#39;ll have to.
I drove by Cheesy Eddie%26#39;s the other day and was thinking, too bad they%26#39;re not open later. I think they need some prodding from their customers.
