Hilton Garden Inn Times Square - breakfast option????

Hi guys, just a quick question. am taking wife to new york as a surprise 30th birthday treat and am pretty sure that i want to book the Hilton Garden Inn Times Square based on reviews on this site. When I have gone to make the booking on expedia.co.uk there is a choice of rooms with ';full breakfast';. After looking at many reviews and the hotels website i am still not 100% sure about the breakfast policy. I know that it is served in the restaurant attached to the hotel and have looked at their website and breakfast menus%26#39; whic have all items with prices. Is there anyone who has stayed at this hotel on ';full breakfast'; who can tell me how it works? Are there restrictions on what you can order? Can you spend upto a certain amount? Every other hotel I%26#39;ve stayed in has provided a hot/cold buffet which you help yourself to but after looking at the menu it doesn%26#39;t seem to be the case here. Any help anyone could give would be great!! Any other tips would be great about this hotel - I have also looked at the newer Hilton Garden Inn 35th. You can%26#39;t seem to book breakfast when booking the room with this one - anyone stayed there and could advise about breakfast?

I stayed there last year and there was a special menu for the Hilton guests, but it is table service not a buffet. I personally did not think the food was very good. The hotel was great though!

There is a coffee shop across the street that does a

decent breakfast. There is a supermarket up the street

that will have a good selection of items to keep in the room for a light breakfast in your room. You can use the coffee maker or microwave to boil water for tea.

It%26#39;s not so common in NYC for hotels to offer breakfast and many of them are not that good. There are LOADS of places for relatively inexpensive breakfasts and it gives you a chance to try different places.

Have you compared the price on Expedia to the hotel%26#39;s own prices? Is it that much better? Also, while the hotel is perfectly nice, there%26#39;s nothing particularly special or romantic about it if it%26#39;s a special trip. What are your dates and what is this costing? Before you book, I could have a look at other options.

We%26#39;ll be leaving on 13may09 and leaving 17may09. looking to stay close to the action with close links to public transport as my wife has mobility issues and can%26#39;t walk around all day. have been quoted 拢1200 on expedia including ba flights, transfers and stay at hilton garden inn times square inc full breakfast. any help would be great. stuart.

If you were to prepay the hotel (which is what you%26#39;ll have to do with Expedia) directly yourself the rate is $209/night plus taxes x 4 nights = ~$960 but doesn%26#39;t include breakfast.

So the package that you%26#39;re getting is giving you breakfast and ';transfers'; essentially free. The transfers will be with Super Shuttle and they%26#39;re TERRIBLE and never recommended here. If you can decline the transfers (and save some money) I would. If you like the idea of having b/f at the hotel every day, this is a decent deal.

I usually prefer to buy air and hotel separately and avoid having to prepay it all and have more flexibility. On travelzoo.com there%26#39;s a special for the Shelburne Murray Hill which I think is a nicer hotel. A studio suite is $179/night plus tax and a 1 bedroom suite is $199/night plus tax. It must be booked by TODAY to get that rate but it doesn%26#39;t require prepayment and is cancelable up to the day before should you find a better deal. This hotel is near Grand Central Terminal and is newly renovated.

We always stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Times Square.

We love to eat breakfast at the restaurant but we

don%26#39;t get a package because of limited options. The

food is very good and reasonable. We just order

off the menu.

Rule one on breakfasts in hotels in New York City.

Unless they are free go somewhere else. There are

hundreds of other good choices.
