I%26#39;m not a fan of these passes - if it%26#39;s your first visit - why not try touring on your own - others think the passes are good value-you really have to do a lot of research to determine what the monetary savings would be to you.

This question gets asked a LOT here. Check out this very recent thread and the one which is ';hot linked'; in it for a discussion of the passes sold by 3 different companies; they are not all structured or priced the same or even similarly:

Go the top of the forum where there is a search box and put in new york pass to get all the threads about it.

After reading everything we decided it was good for us because we are on a limited budget and this way we know what was our activities will cost. We will be in NYC for 5 days and got the 3 day pass.

I sat down looking at the ny pass website of all attractions and made a list of what interested us, then went to their website to check out times, days, and prices. After putting it all to paper we determined it would save us money since we are the go, go, go type of vacationers who only hit the hotel to sleep and shower.

Here is our tentative 3 day itinerary to give you an idea: (traveling ages 50, 21, 17)

Day 1: Theatre district walking tour 11-1, lunch Planet Hollywood with $10 voucher 1:30-2:30, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 3:30-5:00, Bodies Exhibit 6-7:30, grab a bite at the Seaport, Empire State Bldg and NY sky ride.

Day 2: Madison Sq Garden Tour 11-1, Greenwich Village Walking Tour 2-3:30, Circle Line Cruise 4:30-7:30 (eat on boat), Madame Trussaud Wax Museum 8-10.

Day 3: Radio City Stage Door Tour 11-12:30, Top of Rock 1-1:45, NBC Studios tour 2-3:30, MOMA 4-5:30, Museum of TV and Radio 6-8.
