Hi Guys,
Which airport in NYC is the best to land in the night time? I am asking with respect to the transportaion system connecting the city and the airport in the night.
Also which one is good any time of the day as far as transportaion system is concerned
I am getting a flight from Denver to Long Island Airport and Laguardia Airport. The flight is landing after 7 PM in both the cases
Thanks for your help

Which Airport in NYC?
Do you know that ';Long Island Airport'; is 50 miles away from Manhattan? No matter what time of day it is, it%26#39;s still 50 miles away. :)
Islip, Long Island is quite a haul from Manhattan, Rahul. LaGuardia, on the other hand, is in Queens, one of the 5 counties that constitute New York City (altho%26#39; most people think of Manhattan, one of the other 4 counties, as ';the City';). Public transportation isn%26#39;t fabulous from LaGuardia, but it%26#39;s a faster, and cheaper (even by cab), jaunt.
If you%26#39;re still curious about the Long Island airport, read this thread:

For your transportation options from LaGuardia, read through this very helpful article:

Yeah ... I know that :-)
Thanks for opening my eyes.... I got blinded by a cheap flight to Long Island but I guess its not worth it.
Is laguardia OK? Is it well connected in day as well as in night?
Please let me know!
Thanks so much
You Simply Rock Cockle Cove....!!!!!
Thanks a zillion!!!!
JFK Airport has the JFK AirTrain. If you can get a nonstop Denver - JFK flight on jetBlue, that would be best.
The JFK AirTrain operates 24 hours a day. You can get just about anywhere in NYC for $7.00 from JFK Airport, it is fantastic.
LaGuardia Airport has buses, they operate all night but they become less frequent in the middle of the night. A taxi from LaGuardia is fairly economical, much less expensive than Denver Int%26#39;l. Airport to Downtown Denver.
Newark has AirTrain Newark.
Long Island has shuttles to the Long Island Rail Road station at Ronkonkoma. LIRR trains run past Midnight, they%26#39;re at least every hour during the day.
I believe Southwest would fly you Denver to Chicago or Baltimore and then into Long Island. You%26#39;d really benefit from spending the extra $20.00 to $40.00 to fly nonstop on jetBlue into JFK.
Thanks so much for the detailed description about every airport. I will surely search for Jet Blue!!!
Thanks
Rahul
You have to weigh the time and money it takes to get from the Islip MacArthur Long Island airport. If you%26#39;re a family of 4 and you can save $50-100/ticket, it makes sense to go through the inconvenience of flying to MacArthur and either hiring a car service for ~$100 for the trip or taking the train. But for a single or couple, you%26#39;d need free tickets or some very big discount to make it worthwhile. After that, La Guardia, JFK or Newark (EWR) are all ok for getting into Manhattan. LGA is closest so cheapest taxi ride.
I use
kayak.com
to check airfares. Picking just random dates in April, Jet Blue has the cheapest NON STOP fares between Denver and any NYC airport. They fly into JFK. You can also look at the chart on the top left to see the fare history (whether prices are currently up or down).
Thanks Whiz !!!!!
