Birthday Surprise in NYC

Hi There

Myself and my boyfriend of going to New York in mid june, its my first time visiting, he has been a couple of times before. It is his birthday the day we arrive and I really want to do something special, a surprise if possible. I would like some suggestions on something memorable and a little out of the ordinary please. I am assuming you are from Birmingham, England and not Birmingham, Alabama or Birmingham, Michigan. If so, you may be quite tired upon your arrival, or at least the first night you arrive. If you think you can handle a somewhat late night on the night your arrive, I suggest you take the Bateaux New York dinner cruise. It is absolutely lovely to see the city from the water! The food is very good and the music/dancing is very nice. It is a memorable experience.

If you are too tired, perhaps a lovely dinner in midtown, I recommend The Modern, followed by a trip up to the Top of the Rock. The views are so lovely, even at night!

I%26#39;ve never done this, and cannot recommend one company over another. I%26#39;d check them all out and do whichever you like.

How about a show? Broadway, Off-Broadway, Off-Off-Broadway...they%26#39;re all fun. You could do something more interactive like De La Guardia downtown (if it%26#39;s still even playing).

De La Guarda is no longer playing, but Fuerza Bruta, along the same lines, was a lot more fun. (If you don%26#39;t mind getting wet.)
